Mrs. Brenda Quinn Gilbert, age 76, of 1164 Sardis Rd., Union, widow of Joseph Clayton Gilbert, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Mrs. Gilbert was born in Union, June 29, 1945, a daughter of the late Barney Floyd and Ruby Nell Quinn Davis. She was a graduate of Union High School, a 1983 graduate of Piedmont Technical College and received a nursing degree from USC-Upstate. She was proud to be the first person in her family to graduate college. She was a registered nurse at Union Medical Center for thirty years. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church where she was a member of the #1 Circle and the #III Sunday School Class.
Surviving are a daughter, JoAnna Jordan of Putman; a son, Edward Gilbert of Union; a sister, Debra Caughman of Sedelia; a brother, Dennis Quinn of Union; three grandchildren, Lindsay Jordan and fiancée, Chance Crocker of Union, Emily O'Shields and husband Justin of Union, and Shelby Gilbert of the home; a great-granddaughter, Everly Crocker of Union; and a special friend Genelle Silvers. She was predeceased by a brother, Wesley Quinn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 6, 2022, at Sardis United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jeff Farmer. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be, Chance Crocker, Justin O'Shields, Phillip Quinn, Kane Quinn, and Jake Mayes.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for their love and care of Mrs. Gilbert.
