Brenda Hamm Tiller

Mrs. Brenda Hamm Tiller, age 84, of York, widow of Wilton “Will” Roy Tiller, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Mrs. Tiller was born December 31, 1941, to the late Lawrence Hamm and Jessie Love Hamm. She was retired from Cone Mills, Carlisle Finishing and attended King James Baptist Church. Mrs. Tiller loved to read, cook, watch cooking videos, do brain games on her phone and trips to the beach. She was a beautiful, friendly and outgoing person.

Mrs. Tiller is survived by her son, Darryl Sumner and his wife, Susan of York, a brother Lewis Hamm of McConnells and grandchildren, Tori Sumner (Nick) and Dalton Sumner. She also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tiller predeceased by brothers, Grady Hamm and Leon Hamm and sisters, Myrtle Adams, Ruth Dabbs, Margie Canupp and Elaine Cabiness.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at Lockhart Cemetery conducted by Rev. Lewis Steele. The family will receive friends at the graveside from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the services.
