Mrs. Brenda Becknell Wood, age 68, wife of Bobby Joe Wood of 277 Webber Lake Rd., Union, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Mrs. Wood was born in Union, SC September 21, 1946 a daughter of the late T.C. Becknell and Marie Burgess Becknell. She was a graduate of Union High School and a member of Fairforest Baptist Church. She attended Philippi Baptist Church where she was a member of Philippi Outreach Services. Mrs. Wood retired from South Carolina Department of Corrections-Tyger-River facility. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and a member of the Red Hat Society. Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter: Angie Campbell and husband Dennis of Duncan; two sons: Joel T. Wood and wife Cathy and Lynn Wood and wife Kelley all of Union; grandchildren: Ashton Ward of Union, Matthew Campbell, Travis Campbell both of Duncan, Delaney Wood, Gentry Wood, Levi Wood and Sulley Wood and one great-grandchild: Tycen Ward all of Union; three brothers: Harold Becknell of West Springs, Arthur Becknell and wife Betty of Union and Gene Becknell and wife Loretta all of Union. Funeral service will be held 3:30 PM Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Brad Goodale and Rev. Joe Baldwin. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Wenston Wood, Levi Wood, Gentry Wood, Travis Campbell, Matthew Campbell and Sulley Wood. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:15 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O.
