March 5, 2017 Mr. Bruce Reginald Morris, age 70, husband of Mary Coleman Morris of 122 Sunset Rd., Union, passed away Saturday evening, March 4, 2017 at his home. Mr. Morris was born in Union, October 17, 1946, a son of the late Wilbur Douglas Morris and Mary Frances Palmer Morris. He was a 1965 graduate of Union High School and attended USC-Union. Mr. Morris retired as owner of Morris Service Station in Monarch and had previously worked with Torrington Co. He was a former member of the S.C. National Guard and was an active supporter and member of the NRA. Mr. Morris was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Kimberly M. Lawson and husband Scott and Kelly M. Small and husband Michael all of Union; a step-daughter, Tracy W. Vermillion and husband Jon of Blythewood; a step-son, Troy E. Wright and wife Jennifer of Union; a sister, Kathy M. Meador of Spartanburg and a brother, Ricky L. Morris and wife Kathy of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Kannon, Kaleb and Mason Small, Jordan and Jakob Lawson, Kourtney, Karson and Karrah Vermillion and Amelia and Ian Wright. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Randy Smith. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be D.C. Smith, Eddie Smith, David Smith, Jr., Kenny Scott, Gerald Lawson, Dean Garner, Kenny Morris, and Zachary Morris. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort: Raymond Morris, Glenn Sparks, Wayne Hutcherson, Steve Morris, Jimmy Fowler, Harold Fowler, Ken Fowler and Jerry Williams. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to Gentiva Hospice of South Carolina, 905 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family will be at the home, 122 Sunset Rd., Union.
