Buddy N. Gillespe

Mr. Buddy N. Gillespie, age 78, of 631 Markham Circle, Moore, widower of Trudy Harris Gillespie passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mr. Gillespie was born in Woodruff, April 10,1940, a son of the late Elzie Gillespie and Ruby Lyda Gillespie. He was a graduate of Woodruff High School and a member of Jonesville Baptist Church. Mr. Gillespie retired from Timken Company of Gaffney. Surviving are two sons, Shawn Gillespie and wife Cassandre of the home and Ronny Gillespie and wife Kari of Greer; a daughter-in-law, Julie Hart of Buffalo; three special sisters-in-law; Norma Kerr of Spartanburg, Connie Millwood of Jonesville and Gay Turner of Havelock, NC; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Gillespie was predeceased by a son, Jim Hart. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 26,2018 at Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel conducted by the Rev. Josh Freeman. Burial will be at Gilead Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Jake Black, Chad Silvers, Joey Lewis, Jordan Lewis and Jimmy Tesner. Visitation will be held from1:00 until 2:00 PM Wednesday at the chapel prior to the services. The family will be at the home of his sister-in-law, Norma Kerr, 5394 South Pine St, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
