Carol Johns Crawford

Mrs. Carol Johns Crawford, age 68, wife of Marion Crawford of 466 Happy Valley Rd., Union, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Hospice Care of Laurens County. Mrs. Crawford was born in Union, SC December 5, 1945, a daughter of the late Sims Johns and Madora Cudd Johns. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Gerald D. Fielder's Office. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she served on the Fellowship Committee and was a member of the Juanita Crocker Sunday School Class. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Donna Dunford and husband Tom of Myrtle Beach; a son, Chris West and wife Kim of Spartanburg; three step-daughters: Debbie Strickland and husband Phil of Prosperity, Cheryl Scarborough and husband Timmy of Spartanburg and Mary Harris and husband Joey of Union; a step-son, Freddie Crawford and wife Angela of Union; four grandchildren: Hannah West, Jana West, Taylor Dunford and Zane Dunford; eight step-grandchildren; a half-sister, Lynn Crocker of Santuc and special friends, Celeste West, Debra Bradburn, Mary Jane and Carlton Chastain, Elaine and Roger Bishop, Tim and Angel Bryant, Shirley Lancaster and Gary and Minnie Silvers. Mrs. Crawford was predeceased by four sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David Lewis, Rev. Guy Langston and Rev. Ross Wilson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Lockaby, Mike Drum, David Johns, Robbie Crocker, Tony Ward and Shannon Lockaby. Members of the Juanita Crocker Sunday School Class are asked to sit together in a group. Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 PM Saturday in the church prior to the service. The family is at the home, 466 Happy Valley Rd., Union.
