Carol F. Lawson

Mrs. Carol Farr Lawson, age 76, of 1612 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Pauline, widow of Emslie Lawson, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Lawson was born in Adamsburg, June 28, 1939, a daughter of the late Herbert and Lois Adams Farr. She was a graduate of Union High School and attended Winthrop College. Mrs. Lawson retired after 40 plus years with Milliken and Co. and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church where she was a member of the Joy Club. Surviving are two daughters, Carla Martin and husband Greg, and Caron Jones and fiancée Joe Deguzman all of Moore; three grandchildren, Catherine Renfro and husband Chris of Alpharetta, GA, Kimberly Guthzeit and husband Thomas and Rachel Jones all of Moore; one great-grandson, Isaac Renfro. Mrs. Lawson was predeceased by a grandson, Barrett Martin and a sister, Reba F. Montgomery. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Turner, Eddie Gibson, Glenn Ivey, Ronnie Crocker, Bobby Horne, and Jerry Callahan. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:30 until 2:45 PM at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Philippi Baptist Church, Debt Retirement Fund, 327 Philippi Church Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at their respective home.
