Carolyn Hayes Culbreath

July 30, 1935 — October 2, 2015

Mrs. Carolyn Hayes Culbreath, age 80 formerly of Woodruff, residing at White Oak Estates, Spartanburg, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at Regional Hospice Home. She was the widow of William Theodore Culbreath. Mrs. Culbreath was born in Mayo, SC July 30, 1935, a daughter of the late Hosea Hayes and Mary Price Hayes. She was a graduate of Chesnee High School, Spartanburg Methodist College and also a graduate of Lander College. Mrs. Culbreath was a former school teacher and also worked in the family business, Woodruff Hardware and Farm Supply. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodruff where she was Sunday School teacher and was very active in various organizations of the community. Surviving are a daughter, Anna C. Nichols (Glenn) of Dothan, AL; a son, William T. Culbreath, II (Susan) of Woodruff; a brother, Hugh Hayes of Spartanburg; four grandchildren: Adam, Matthew and Cameron Nichols of Alabama and Sergey Culbreath of Woodruff. Mrs. Culbreath was predeceased by a brother, Monty Hayes. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 4, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Woodruff, 801 Cross Anchor Rd., Woodruff, SC 29388, conducted by Rev. Andrew Shull. Visitation will be held 1:30-2:45 PM Sunday in the church sanctuary prior to the service. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Union Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Woodruff, 801 Cross Anchor Rd., Woodruff, SC 29388 or to Woodruff Soup Kitchen, P.O. Box 352, Woodruff, SC 29388. The family is at the home of her son, William T. Culbreath, 253 Edgewood Circle, Woodruff.
