December 31, 2017 Mrs. Carolyn Humphries McAee, age 84 of 121 Orchard Lane, Union, widow of Lewis Edward McAbee, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her home. Mrs. McAbee was born in Cleveland County, NC June 30, 1933, a daughter of the late Willie Lee Humphries and Vernie Horne Humphries. She was a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College where she received her GED and CNA Nursing Certificate. Mrs. McAbee had formerly worked in home health, textiles and was owner of Carolyn's Concessions. She was a member of Ottaray Baptist Church and was a loving wife and mother. Surviving are a daughter, Kim McAbee Crocker and husband Perry; three sons: Billy McAbee and wife Debbie, Eddie McAbee and Timmy McAbee all of Union; a sister, Patricia H. McAbee; three brothers: Jim Humphries, Tom Humphries and Doug Humphries all of Union; five grandchildren: Wade McAbee, Chelsea Crocker, Alyssa Crocker all of Union, Kevin McAbee and Steven McAbee both of Boiling Springs; four great-grandchildren: Trevin, Addison, Christian and Derrick McAbee all of Boiling Springs. Mrs. McAbee was predeceased by two sisters, Melva H. Lawson and Grace H. Parkins and a brother, Dennis Humphries. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Ottaray Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Walter Holcombe. Burial will be in Fredrick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney. Active pallbearers will be the following grandsons, Steven McAbee, Kevin McAbee, Wade McAbee and also Calvin McBee, Robert Calhoun and Randy McAbee. The following are asked to sit in a group: Robbie McAbee, Charles Lee McAbee, Perry Crocker, Larry McAbee, staff of Kindred Home Hospice and Agape Hospice. Mrs. McAbee will be taken to the home Monday evening after 4:00 PM where the family will receive friends. Visitation will also be held 12:00-1:00 PM Wednesday in the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Ottary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 70, Union, SC 29379. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Kindred Home Hospice and Agape Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. McAbee during her illness.
