Carolyn Brown Mcbee

Mrs. Carolyn Brown McBee, age 93, of 119 Highland Dr., Union, SC., passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at her home. She was the widow of William deBohun McBee. Mrs. McBee was born in Greenville, SC., on November 8, 1923, a daughter of the late Archie Eugene Brown and Grace Williams Brown. She was attended of Sullens College, Bristol, VA and Furman University. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, and was an active member Episcopal Church Women. Mrs. McBee was one of the charter members of the Union Cotillion Club. Surviving are a daughter, Louise McBee Ferguson and husband, Jim of Rock Hill; a son, William B. McBee, Jr. of the home; one granddaughter, Grace McBee Ferguson; three grandsons, James Allen Ferguson, Jr., Luther McBee Ferguson and William B. McBee, III; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. McBee was predeceased by two brothers, Gene Brown and Charles Brown. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Church of the Nativity conducted by the Rev. Peggy Munice. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow the committal in the Parrish Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Up Country History Museum, 540 Buncombe St., Greenville, SC 29601, in honor of Vardry McBee.
