Carolyn “Lyn” Murphy

May 15, 2016 Mrs. Carolyn "Lyn" Crawford Murphy, age 71, wife of Maxie "Gene" Murphy, Sr., of 112 Culbreath Heights, Union, SC., passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Union Medical Center. Mrs. Murphy was born in Blacksburg, SC on November 18, 1944 a daughter of the late Marion Lafon Crawford, Sr. and Carolyn Stafford Crawford. She was a 1966 graduate of Spartanburg Junior College. Mrs. Murphy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband of forty-seven years are two sons, Gene Murphy, Jr. and Stefan Murphy and wife, Melisa all of Union; five grandchildren, Ivy Murphy, Lindsey Murphy, Hayden Murphy, Colton Murphy and Lila Murphy all of Union; one brother, Ryan Crawford of FL. and two nieces, Christen C. Summerville of CA and Victoria C. Noel of GA; a nephew, Trey Crawford of FL. She was predeceased by a sister, Jane Crawford and a brother, Marion Lafon Crawford, Jr. A celebration of life will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Guy Langston and Rev. Scott Cannon. Visitation will following the service in the chapel. The family are at their respective homes.
