Cathy Jo (Lane) Howell

Mrs. Cathy Jo Lane Howell, age 72 of 155 Mitchell Rd., Union, widow of Keith Howell, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mrs. Howell was born December 7, 1952, in Union, a daughter of the late Hamp Lane and Shirley Smith Lane.  She attended Union County Schools and worked in the food service industry as a cook.  Mrs. Howell was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church.  She was an avid Gamecock Fan.

Surviving are six children, Crystal "Kristy" Howell and friend Tim Richardson of Union, Anna Howell Jones of Myrtle Beach, Michael Howell of Kinards, Johnny Howell and wife Brandy, Marvin Howell of Charlotte, and Amber Waddell of Spartanburg; Mrs. Howell's boyfriend, Larry Waddell and his son Ridge; a daughter-in-law and her loving caregiver, Amy Howell; nine grandchildren, Angela Mayhorn and Matt Davis, Matthew Mayhorn, Peyton Howell, Andrew Anders and Hayleigh Murphy, Reagan Wicker, Cheianne Jones, Jonathan Jones, Brylie Howell, and Caleb Howell; one great-granddaughter, Jehma Lawson; and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie Lane Ponder and a brother, Baron Lane.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb.  Burial will follow at Lane Family Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jamie Babb, Tack Brown, Tracey Smith, Matt Davis, Roger Willard, and Grant Bussey.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the services at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
