Cathy Vinson Smith

Mrs. Cathy Vinson Smith, age 70, wife of Jerry H. Smith of 439 Mt. Tabor Church Rd. Union, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mrs. Smith was born in Union, November 13, 1950, a daughter of the late Elzie Eugene Vinson and Julia Eaves Vinson. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and retired from Union Co. Disabilities and Special Need. Mrs. Smith was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Laura Farr Sunday School class.

Surviving in addition to husband of 48 years is a son, Scott Smith and wife Tonya of Union; two granddaughters, Tayla and Riana Smith; a niece Katie Adams and husband Jonathan and a great-niece Anna Kate Adams. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a sister, Susan V. Thomason.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Richard Lewis and Rev. Mark Truitt.

The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.

Due to the current health crisis, the family request that COVID-19 social distancing guidelines be followed.

The family will be at the home of her son, Scott and Tonya Smith, 245 River Rd., Union.
