Cecil James Billings

Mr. Cecil James Billings, age 77, husband of Brenda Lawson Billings, of 1873 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Pauline, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Billings was born October 15, 1942 in Spartanburg, a son of the late James T. Billings and Leeada West Billings.  He was a 1962 graduate of Woodruff High School and retired from Spartanburg Steel Products Company.  Mr. Billings was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the HHC 2nd Battalion 32nd Infantry and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam Era.  He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church where he served as secretary of the Sunday School Department and was Chairman of the Cemetery Committee.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Rev. Dr. James H. "Jamie" Billings and wife Christy of Blacksburg; a grandson, Riley J. Billings of Blacksburg; a sister, Janelle Billings of Buffalo; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister, Esther Billings.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Ministry Center conducted by the Rev. Melvin Shelton, Rev. Dr. Jamie Billings, and Rev. Joey Shetley.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Church Cemetery.  Due to the current health crisis the family ask that you please practice social distancing.

Active pallbearers will be Gregg Hembree, Otis Hembree, Darren Paccione, John Beaty, Grady Gowan, and Don Tucker.  All the attendants that helped Mr. Billings on Sunday Mornings are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
