Charles William Allen

August 26, 2016 Mr. Charles William Allen, age 58 of 523 Toluca Street, Union, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House. Mr. Allen was born in Union April 16, 1958, a son of Guy Copeland of the home and the late Martha Lawson Copeland. He was a retired plumber and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving in addition to his father are two sisters: Marlene A. Davis and husband Brent of Jonesville and Tammie A. Davis of Union; a brother, Larry "Foots" Lawson and wife Patricia of Union; two special little girls that called him "Papa Charlie", Hallie and Carrigan Brewington; a special friend, Susan Wentz and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Allen was predeceased by a nephew, Tony Lawson. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Chris Gulledge. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Fleming, Eddie Bailey, Shawn Garner, Walker Lawson, Christian Lawson, Mike Weaver, Dennis "Skeet" Sumner and Matthew Davis. The following are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers: Dennis Davis, Jason and Cathy Peahuff, Ted Burris, Everette Green, Steve Davis and Joe Moore. Visitation will be held at the graveside immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Charles W. Allen Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 523 Toluca Street, Union.
