Charles B. Elrod

Lexington, S.C. Mr. Charles Barron Elrod, 78, residing in Lexington, SC came to the end of his earthly journey and moved on to his Eternal Heavenly home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Mr. Elrod was born in Clarksville, Georgia on September 8, 1940, a son of the late Mr. Bailey Elrod and Ms. Rachel Elrod. He was a graduate of North Habersham High School and attended Georgia Tech. Mr. Elrod was employed with Comfort Keepers in West Columbia, SC. He was previously employed with United Merchants and Manufacturers in Union, SC. He was a member of Lexington Baptist Church in Lexington. Surviving are his daughter, DeAnne Elrod Corley of West Columbia, SC and his furry best friend that he loved so dearly, Tipper, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two wives, Mrs. Vera Stepp Elrod and Mrs. Mona Cranford Elrod. He was also predeceased by his sisters Sandra Biggio and Susan Whiting. Visitation will be held prior to the services at 11:00AM Friday, November 16, 2018 and funeral services will be held at 12:00PM Friday, November 16, 2018 at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Daniel Williams. A graveside service will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Fleming, Don Shetley, Frank Alexander, Ricky Henderson, Terry Young, and Wade Holland. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Charles Elrod Fund, P.O.
