Charles Richard Lawson

Mr. Charles Richard Lawson, age 76, of 122 Douglas Heights, Union, widower of Sherry Linder Lawson, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mr. Lawson was born in Union, February 4, 1948, a son of the late Rosco Wilbur Lawson and Leaner Manus Leonhardt Lawson.  He was a 1966 graduate of Jonesville High School and had attended the University of South Carolina at Union.  Mr. Lawson retired from the Torrington Company in 1998, following his retirement, he was an automotive mechanic.  He retired from the South Carolina National Guard.

Surviving are his caregiver, Amy Bobo of Union; two sons, Brian Richard Lawson and Eric Wesley Lawson both of Union; a step daughter, Jennifer Johnson Hicks of Buffalo; a sister, Margie Lawson of Union; a brother, Rosco Jackie Lawson of Union; fourteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a step-son, Jamie Johnson; two brothers, Edward Leonhardt and Wilbur Lawson; and three sisters, Jeanette Lawson McCall, Jeanelle Lawson and Yvonne Leonhardt West.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, November 15, 2024 at Jonesville Memorial Gardens conducted by Mr. Ben Ivey.

Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery.
