Charles Robin Massey

December 14, 2017 Mr. Charles Robin Massey, age 56 of 326 Wesley Chapel Rd., Union, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at his home. Mr. Massey was born in Union, March 9, 1961, a son of the late James Ervin "Buddy" Massey and Nora Bradley Massey. He was a 1979 graduate of Lockhart High School and was employed as a millwright journeyman in commercial construction. Mr. Massey was a member of Philippi Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are a daughter, Dana Riggs of Myrtle Beach; a son, Jody Massey of Indiana; two brothers: Mike Massey and wife Donna and Bill Massey all of Union; a sister, Wanda Aiken of Chester; a step-daughter, Mary Ann Seagle of Union; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a longtime companion, Penny Ellis of Lockhart and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Massey was predeceased by a sister, Cheryl Massey McCutcheon. Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Carter, Jeff Sinclair, Dennis Horton, Larry Lemons, Stan Eaves, Nathan Gibson, Jerry Nance, Wesley Shuhart, David Taylor, Sammy Baine, Larry Candler, Mike O'dell, Sammy Valentine and Kelly Morrow. Visitation will be held in the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to MSA Hospice of Union, 720 S. Duncan Bypass, Suite C, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of his brother, Mike and Donna Massey, 4246 Lockhart Hwy, Union, SC 29379.
