Charles "Buddy" Vanderford

Mr. Charles A. "Buddy" Vanderford, age 84, husband of Joyce Middlebrooks Vanderford, of 1005 Monarch Hwy., Union, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Vanderford was born October 21, 1936 in Union, a son of the late Albert Hope Vanderford and Della Wiggins Vanderford Riley.  He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Carlisle Finishing Company after 23 years.  Mr. Vanderford was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where he was a member of the William Sprouse Sunday School Class.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years are a son, Vincent "Vince" Vanderford and wife Beth of Moore; a daughter, Charla V. McClure of Puyallup, Washington; two brothers, Stanley Vanderford and wife Rita of Santuc and Keith Vanderford and wife Teresa of Union; three grandsons, Nicholas Vanderford, Harrison Vanderford, and Eli McClure; two granddaughters, Elizabeth McClure and Taylor Shope; two great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Perk Owens of Pacolet; and two sisters-in-law, Jane Austin and Myra Middlebrooks both of Union.  He was predeceased by a sister, Mazel V. Owens.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Chris Gulledge.

Active pallbearers will be Nicholas Vanderford, Harrison Vanderford, Tommy Calhoun, Mark Austin, Darrell Austin, and Kevin Vanderford.

Visitation will be held immediately following the service at the Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

The family is at the home, 1005 Monarch Highway, Union, SC 29379.
