Charlie R. Gregory

March 5, 2019 Mr. Charlie Ruben Gregory, age 73, formerly of 2nd Ave. Union, widower of Virginia Cargill Gregory, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Gregory was born in Jonesville, October 24, 1945, a son of the late Johnny Sharp Gregory and Mary Azalee Proctor Gregory. He retired from Haemonetics Corp. in Union and was a member of Brown's Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Gregory was also a member of the Union Masonic Lodge #75. He was a longtime volunteer at the Union Medical Center and loved his family, children and the Lord. Mr. Gregory was first married to the late Margie Owens Gregory. Surviving are a brother B.F. Gregory and wife Cheryl of Jonesville; a sister, Mary G. Toney of Union and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Gregory was predeceased by two sisters, Louise G. Jenkins and Martha Ann Gregory and three brothers, William, Andrew, and Wallace "Gene" Gregory. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Brown's Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. John Lee. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Brown's Creek Baptist Church, 118 Brown's Creek Church Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at their respective homes.
