Mr. Charlton Gene "Buster" Hefner, age 76, husband of Hilda Stalnaker Hefner, of 221 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Union, passed away, Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Union Medical Center.
Mr. Hefner was born December 7, 1945, in Chester, a son of the late Gene Hefner and Venia Gilreath Hefner. He was a graduate of Lockhart High School and retired after 35+ years from Menzel, Inc. Mr. Hefner was the Past Master and a long-standing member of Lockhart Masonic Lodge No. 244. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Hefner was a former President of the South Carolina Callers Association and a square dance caller for 25 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 58 years are a daughter, Suzie Hefner of Union; a son, Ronald Hefner and wife Lori of Spartanburg; his twin brother, Carlton Dean "Pete" Hefner and wife Liz of Chester; two sisters, Winifred Bennett of Chester and Vanessa Watts and husband Jimmy of Chester; three grandchildren, Eric Leopard of Union, Jackson Hefner of Spartanburg, and Olivia Hefner of Spartanburg; three sisters-in-law, Emily Hefner of Lancaster, Bobbie Sue Revis of Union and Jan Stalnaker of Union; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Orson Hefner and Shelton Hefner.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic there will be no public services.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
The family is at the home 221 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Union.
