Clara Elizabeth Dantzler Union, Sc

Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Burgess Dantzler, age 89 of 119 Old Ferry Rd., Union, widow of Marvin S. Dantzler, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mrs. Dantzler was born in Union, SC May 29, 1925, a daughter of the late Judson Burgess and Birdie Mae Lipsey Burgess. She had attended Kelly Pinckney School and was a member of McCutchen Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Dantzler attended Welcome Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Jeanette B. Tatum and husband Gerald of Union; a son, Steve Baldwin of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Ella Mae Worley of Marrietta, FL; two brothers: Leroy Burgess and wife Ada of Union and Carol Burgess; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Terri Watson and husband Bo of Santuc and a step-son, Buddy Dantzler of Union. Mrs. Dantzler was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine Gosnell and Toni Burgess. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis and Rev. Scott Cobb. The men of Welcome Baptist Church will serve as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may made to Ellen Sagar Nursing Home Activity Fund, 1817 Jonesville Hwy, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 119 Old Ferry Rd., Union.
