Cody A. Newton

March 30, 2016 Mr. Cody A. Newton, age 28, of 271 Meansville Rd., Union, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at his home. Mr. Newton was born in Union, SC on June 13, 1987 a son of Joe Edward Newton, Jr. and Sharon Wallace Newton. Cody enjoyed playing the guitar and entertaining by singing, dancing and acting. He was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and Clemson fan. Surviving in addition to his parents are a daughter, McKenzie Lynne Flowers of Union; his fiancée, Erin Henderson of the home, a brother, Joe Edward (Trey) Newton, III and wife Amanda of Union; paternal grandmother, Joyce W. Newton of Buffalo; maternal grandmother, Margaret Wallace of Buffalo; two aunts, Beth Newton Henderson and husband Kevin of Union and Lisa Wallace of St. Petersburg, FL; two uncles, William Wallace of Union and Don Nivens of Easley; one niece, Delaney Newton; one nephew, Buddy Newton; and two beloved dogs, Buster and Wyatt. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Joe Edward Newton, Sr. and an aunt, Teresa Ann Newton. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, April 1, 2016 at Putman Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tommy Mann and his brother, Trey Newton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Trey Newton, William Wallace, Cory West, Jake West, Don Nivens and Tyler Lancaster. Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the S.R.
