Col. Broadus "Carol" Cathcart, age 74, husband of Judy Billings Cathcart, of 140 Buffalo Creek Ranch Rd., Buffalo, SC went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Cathcart was born in Buffalo, SC, September 9, 1941, a son of the late Herbert H. and Marie Smith Cathcart. He was a veteran of the US Army, during the Vietnam era. Mr. Cathcart worked as a mechanic, a farmer and his true passion, Auctioning. He was an auctioneer for 44 years and was a member of the SC Auctioneer Association. Mr. Cathcart was also a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of 47 years, are a son, Christopher "Mark" Cathcart and wife Rev. Celeste Cathcart and a daughter, Carla C. Champion and husband, Troy, all of Buffalo; grandchildren: Amber C. Lanier and husband Kevin, Katelyn C. O'Shields and husband, Jarred, all of Union, Rebekah Champion, Rachel Ann Cathcart, Jolee Cathcart and Kadyjean Cathcart all of Buffalo and one great-grandson, Eli Edward O'Shields, of Union; sisters: Cora Lee Snyder and husband Buddy and Sybil Ponder, all of Buffalo; a sister-in-law, Sara Cathcart, of Union. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Cathcart A celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Shelton and Rev. Thomas Brown. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be P.D. Harris, David Garner, Roger Bishop, Danny Ponder, Charlie Kelly, David Rector and Robert Mabry. The following are asked to sit in a group, The Tiny to Ninety Sunday School Class. Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, December 21, 2015 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family is at the home 140 Buffalo Creek Ranch Rd., Buffalo, SC 29321.
