Connie B. Burgess

March 22, 2016 Mrs. Connie Jean Boulware Burgess, age 64, wife of Rev. Johnny Burgess of 101 Mill St., Buffalo, went home to be with the Lord, March 22, 2016. Mrs. Burgess was born in Union, October 1, 1951, a daughter of the late Lewis Eugene Boulware and Betty Jean Roberts Boulware. She was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from the City of Union, Building and Zoning Department. Mrs. Burgess was formerly employed with Timken Co. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church, serving alongside her husband in his ministry. Mrs. Burgess was a member of the Adult Sunday School class, the Women's Auxiliary and was a member of the choir. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Surviving in addition to her husband are four daughters, Jeannie Brewington and husband Michael Wayne and Melissa Newton all of Buffalo; April Goins and husband Larry Goins, II of Ft. Riley, KS, and Tiffany Iovane and husband Danny of Union; two brothers, Lewis S. Boulware and wife Cheryl, and Donald E. Boulware and wife Patsy all of Buffalo; seven grandchildren, Michael Blake Brewington, Cameron Newton, Nina Newton, Tripp Goins, Kaylyn Goins, Jase Goins and Noah Iovane. Mrs. Burgess is also survived by numerous special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Mr. Arley Eller and Mr. Jackie Phipps. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Andy Eller, Wayne Griffith, David Lee, Roger Dale Turner, Roy Turner and Danny Jones. Members of the Adult Sunday School class and the Ladies Auxiliary of the church, along with co-worker of the City of Union are asked to serve as the honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Saturday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, P.O. Box 728, Buffalo, SC 29321. The family will be at the home, 101 Mill St., Buffalo.
