Curtis Maurice Hyder

A memorial service for Mr. Curtis Maurice Hyder will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 14,2021 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis.

Mr. Hyder, age 87, husband of Mary Barber Hyder of 480 Hawkins Rd., Union, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mr. Hyder was born in Union, August 2, 1934, a son of the late Wilkes Edward Hyder Sr. and Lillian Green Hyder. A graduate of Union High School, he was the owner and operator of Hyder's Barber Shop with his brothers for many years. Mr. Hyder was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Welcome Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Tammy West (Gene) of Union; three sons, Bo Gregory (Gail) of Buffalo, Jeff Gregory of the home and Michael Gregory (Vanessa) of Union; a sister, Cornelia Owings of Union; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Mr. Hyder was predeceased by a son, Robert Gregory; five sisters, Annie Lee Cothran, Minnie Lou Barnett, Mary Rosa Hyder, Lillian Lorena Gregory and Vivian Estelle Jolly and six brothers, Fred Hampton Hyder, Ralph Victor Hyder, Wilkes Edward (W.E.) Hyder, Jr., Clarence Ellis Hyder, Claude Thomas Hyder and Donald Glenn Hyder.

The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
