Curtis “Red” Walker

Mr. Curtis E. "Red" Walker, Jr. age 92 of 116 Red Road, Union, Lockhart Community, widow of Peggy Brannon Walker, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home. Mr. Walker was born in Lockhart on March 14, 1925 a son of the late Curtis E. Walker, Sr. and Susie Davis Walker. He was retired from Cone Mill and owned and operated Walker's Gift Shop in Lockhart. Mr. Walker was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Pearl Gault of Adamsburg and Pat Cromer of Lockhart; six grandchildren, Chad Vinson and wife Stacie of Union; Danny Vinson of Lockhart, Kent Walker and wife Andrea of Union; Jody Walker and wife Danielle of Lockhart, Brandy Smallwood and husband Jeryle of Lockhart, and Melissa Flood and husband Dr. John of Union; ten great-grandchildren, Collin, Clint, Kacie, Noah, MaKayla, Mary Elizabeth, Jonah, Emma, Hayden, and Brannon; two daughter-in-laws, Joanne Walker and Sarah Walker both of Lockhart; one son-in-law, J.T. Vinson of Lockhart; and numerous niece and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Kathy W. Vinson; three sons, Kenneth E. Walker, Keith Walker, and Clint Walker; two sisters, Suzanne Harris and Jessie Canupp; and two brothers, Joe Walker and Bert Walker. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, November 24, 2017 at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Sam Baine, Rev. Dr. Tommy Bryson, and Rev. Delos Blanton. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be, Dexter Inman, David McCluney, Garrett Gibson, Allen Canupp, Lee Brannon, and Chris Brannon. The nurses and staff of Crescent Hospice, formally Blue Ridge Hospice, is asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Friday prior to the services at the Church. Memorials may be made to Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church, 126 Askew Circle, Union, SC 29379.
