Daisy Leatha B. Martinez Pacolet, Sc

Mrs. Daisy Leatha Buice Martinez, age 71, widow of Daniel Martinez, of 1130 Cleveland St., Pacolet, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg. Mrs. Martinez was born in Union, January 10, 1943, a daughter of the late William Albert Buice and Daisy Belle Fowler Buice. She was previously employed with Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant then moved to Antonito, CO where she was the owner and operator of Park Place Hotel. Mrs. Martinez was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church and also the Pacolet Senior Citizens. While in Colorado, she was very active in the Veteran's Ladies Auxiliary. She was first married to the late Donnie Joe Reynolds. Surviving in are two daughters, Lynn R. Thornton of Inman and Lora Reynolds of Pacolet; one son, Lonnie Reynolds of Union; a sister, Emily Peeler and husband Earl of Pacolet Mills; a brother, Tony Buice and wife Kim of Gaffney; four granddaughters, Brittney and McKenzie Thornton, and Kyleigh and Khloe Lamb. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Ralph Jett. Visitation will will be held from 12:00 until 1:30 PM prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brown's Chapel Baptist Church, 350 Green St., Pacolet Mills, SC 29373 or to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family will be at the home of her daughter, 1130 Cleveland St., Pacolet.
