Daisy Onetta Moody

Mrs. Daisy Onetta Anderson Moody, age 82, widow of Willie Furman Moody, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Moody was born in Union, February 23, 1941, a daughter of the late Willie Jackson Anderson and Bessie Austin Anderson. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing after working over 40 years. Mrs. Moody was a member of New Life Baptist Church where she was a member of the Pearl Crocker Sunday School class.

She is survived by three sisters, Jean Wood of Union, Linda Grace Fraley of Virginia, and Ellen Anderson of Columbia; one brother, Charles Anderson; a niece, Susan Lankford and husband Robin of Buffalo; and six nephews, Elbert Wood of Buffalo, Clay Wood and wife Vicki of Columbia, Darrell Fraley of Virginia, Jeff Bolin and wife Lisa of Columbia, Scott Pettit of Union and Adam Anderson and wife Kelsey of Rock Hill. She was predeceased by a sister, Estelle Pettit and a brother, Ken Anderson.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and nurses of Heartland/ProMedica, where Mrs. Moody resided for the last year, for their care and compassion given to her and her family. Also, a special Thank You to Ellen Sagar Nursing Home and Hospice for the special care given during the last week of her illness.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner and Rev. Doug Estes. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the services.
