Daniel Boyce Martin

Mr. Daniel Boyce Martin, age 93, widower of Betty Fowler Martin, formerly of Harvey St., Pacolet, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at White Oak Manor in Spartanburg. Mr. Martin was born in Cherokee Co., on October 15, 1920 a son of the late James Welford Martin and Katie Buice Martin. He was retired from Milliken and Company - Pacolet Plant. Mr. Martin was a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Melissa M. Lee and husband Darren of Spartanburg; a grandson, Senior Airman Garrison Lee stationed in Germany; a sister, Ruby Edwards, of Spartanburg; a special niece, Vickie Edwards of Pacolet; and a close family friend, Debbie Comer, of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2014 at Pacolet Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Norman Band. Visitation will be held Thursday Evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and nurses of White Oak Manor and Hospice Care of South Carolina for their care and concern of Mr. Martin during his illness. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home of his niece, Vickie Edwards, 7850 S. Pine Street, Pacolet, SC.
