Daniel L. Martin

Mr. Daniel Lee Martin, age 89, husband of Frances Sumner Martin of 2718 Lockhart Hwy., Union, passed away, Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mr. Martin was born in Union, July 11, 1933, a son of the late Fred Lee Martin and Ora Sutton Martin. He was a graduate of Union High School and Greenville Technical College. Mr. Martin retired after 42 years service as a truck driver with Milliken and Company. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving aboard the USS Estes during the Korean War. Mr. Martin was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Beth Martin Belue of Union, and Tami Martin Orr and husband Song of Riverview, FL; two sons, Steve Martin and wife Darcy of Newberry and Tim Martin of Florida; two grandchildren, Alex T. Martin and wife Jane of Indialantic, FL and Libby M. Luper and husband Chris of Roaring Gap, NC; four great-granddaughters, Teaghyn, Anistyn, Hollyn and Strattyn Luper; and a sister-in-law, Micki Martin of Union. Mr. Martin was predeceased by a son-in-law, Leroy Belue, Jr., a brother, Bill Martin and a sister, Doris Burnett.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale and Rev. Chris Luper. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Friday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Active pallbearers will be Vince Vanderford, Richie Brown, Bryson Alexander, Leroy Dunlap, George Bates, Stan Gallman and David Becknell.
