Daniel J. Scott Sharon, Sc

Mr. Daniel J. Scott, age 81, husband of Carolyn Parkins Scott of 4029 Parkins Road, Sharon, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at his home. Mr. Scott was born in St. George, SC July 7, 1933, a son of the late John Aaron Scott and Mary Elizabeth McDaniel Scott. He retired from the Chester Post Office after twenty-one years of service and was a member of the Lockhart Presbyterian Church. Mr. Scott was a former Gideon and a Mason. He was also retired from the US Army after twenty years of service having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Danette Parker and husband Dusty of Sharon and Carol Ann Fisher and husband Kevin of Union; a son, Lynn Scott of San Antonio, TX; a granddaughter, Bethany Henderson of Union and a grandson, Chase Parker of Sharon. Mr. Scott was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Scott, a sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Steve Lemons and Rev. Craig Marshall. Burial will be in the Armenia United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2840 Armenia Rd, Chester, SC 29706 with Military Honors. Active pallbearers are Billy Powell, Sam Parker, Ronne Parkins, Tim Gilchrist, Mike Taylor and Donald O'Dell. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
