Danny R. Catoe, Sr.

June 3, 1944 — January 16, 2016

Mr. Danny Reece Catoe, Sr., age 71, husband of Sandra Sulton Catoe of 114 Woodwinds Trail, Union, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his home. Mr. Catoe was born in Union, June 3, 1944, a son of the late Ray Catoe and Bessie Garner Catoe. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Gaines Motor Lines Trucking Company. Mr. Catoe was a member of Enoree First Freewill Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the church choir and served as choir director and choir soloist. Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years are two daughters: Bonita Denese Graham and husband Chris of Union and Melissa Smith of Travelers Rest; a son, Danny Reece Catoe, Jr. and wife Sheila of York; two brothers: Jerry Catoe and wife Patricia of Sprtanburg and Jesse Catoe and wife Susan of Matthews, N.C.; one sister, Mary Lou Black of Enoree; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and a number of special nieces and nephews. Mr. Catoe was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Kathleen and Harvey Sulton. The family is going to have a visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Enoree First Free Will Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Billy Vanderford. In a lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Enoree First Baptist Church, 14151 Hwy. 221, Enoree, SC 29335 or Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave. # 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home.
