Dave Russell Austin

November 9, 2015 Mr. Dave Russell Austin, age 72 of 212 Bobo Street, Union, widower of Gliness Boulware Austin, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mr. Austin was born in Union, May 23, 1943, a son of the late Roy Austin and Alice Peahuff Austin. He retired from Milliken & Co - Monarch Plant and was a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. Austin was a Veteran of the US Army having served in the Vietnam War. Surviving are a son, Scott Austin and wife Crystal of Jonesville; two sisters: Mary Lois Grant with whom he made his home and Nellie Alexander of Roebuck; a brother-in-law, Walter Faulk of Union; two grandchildren: Dustin Austin and wife Stacie and Tiffany Turner and husband Jeffery; two great-grandchildren: Nathan "Little Man" Austin and Bentley Turner; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Donna Carver of Fountain Inn. Mr. Austin was predeceased by a son, Timothy Mark Austin, a sister, Johnnie Ruth Faulk and a brother, William David Leroy Austin, Jr. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Smith. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Members of Union County Fire Fighters Honor Guard will serve as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the church. The family is at the home of his son, Scott and Crystal Austin, 556 Sonoco Rd., Jonesville, SC 29353.
