March 16, 2019 Mr. David Robin Betenbaugh, age 65, of 306 Deepwater Rd., Union, widower of Debbie Revis Betenbaugh, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mr. Betenbaugh was born in Union, August 22, 1953, a son of the late Herman Douglas Betenbaugh and Lillie Linderman Betenbaugh. Mr. Betenbaugh was retired after 33 years of service to his country, having served in the US Army, the Air Force National Guard and the US Air Force. Prior to his service he worked at Midway BBQ at a meat cutter. Mr. Betenbaugh was a member of Putman Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Betenbaugh Bobo of Union; a son, Davey Betenbaugh and wife Heather of Mt. Holly, NC; a step-daughter, Kelly Stewart Harvey of Buffalo; a sister, Patricia B. Jennings and husband Bryant of Newberry; three brothers, William Douglas Betenbaugh and wife Myrtle of Columbus, NC, Herman Donald Betenbaugh and wife Margaret and John Roper Betenbaugh all of Union; four grandchildren, Logan Betenbaugh, Tara Lee Putnam, Tesla Dakota Judy and Devin William James Vanderford; two step-grandchildren, Brystle Harvey and Levi Harvey; and one great-grandson, Liam Guyton. Mr. Betenbaugh was predeceased by a sister, Martha Susan Betenbaugh and two brothers, James Sanders Betenbaugh and Thomas Michael Betenbaugh. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Putman Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tommy Mann. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Burgess, Jerry Burgess, David Joe Keith, Steve Williams, Billy Burgess, William Moseley, Aaron Petty, Dustin Silvey, Rick Malpass, Michael Brewington and Jonathan McAbee. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 2:30 Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the church prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517. The family will be at the home of his brother, Don and Margaret Betenbaugh, 306 Deepwater Rd., Union.
