David Roy Brackins

Mr. David Roy Brackins, age 78, husband of Linda Tucker Brackins of 2018 Jonesville Hwy., Union, passed away at his home Friday, May 8, 2020.

Mr. Brackins was born in Pacolet, February 13, 1942 a son of the late Joe and Marie Schultz Brackins. He was retired from West Pointe-Stevens in Whitmire and was a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. Brackins was a veteran of the US Army and a former member of the SC National Guard, Union Unit.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Christie Sowers and husband David of Chesnee; two sons, Bryan Brackins of Union and Roy Brackins and wife Bridget of Gaffney; three sisters, Joyce Spencer of Spartanburg, Elizabeth Spencer and husband Billy and Margaret Thompson all of Pacolet; one brother, Doyle Brackins of Glendale; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Brackins was predeceased by a sister, Frankie Quinn, a brother, Donald Brackins and two infant brothers.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, May 11, 2020 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Randy Smith and Rev. Joe Brackins.

Active pallbearers will be David Sowers, Wilson Brackins, Dennis Tucker, Lindsey Cannon, Josh Sowers, Ty Peters, Matt Yarbrough and Josh Little.

The family will receive friends after the services at the cemetery.
