David E. Fowler

March 9, 2017 Mr. David E. "Shade Tree" Fowler, age 71 of 901 Lover's Lane Rd., Union, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his home. Mr. Fowler was born in Union, November 9, 1945, a son of the late Woodrow "Fuzz" Fowler and Argel Arnold Fowler Sumner. He was a retired auto mechanic and owner of Fowler's Radiator Shop. Mr. Fowler was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two daughters; Kelly Roark and husband Mike of Myrtle Beach and Kathy Marino of Union; a son, David Kevin Fowler and wife Amika of Pacolet; a sister, Diane Taus and husband Vic of Union; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a step-sister, Diane Sumner Burgess and husband Lloyd of Jonesville and two step-brothers, Roger Sumner and wife Sadie of Union and Nathan Sumner and wife Pat of Jonesville. Mr. Fowler was predeceased by two brothers, Ronnie Fowler and Lonnie "Dude" Fowler. A memorial service will be held 3:00PM Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Randy Burgess. A visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00PM at the chapel prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family will be at their respective homes.
