David A. Martin

Mr. David Albert Martin, age 67, of 253 Suber Lane, Union, widower of Carol Jean Martin, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Martin was born in Cowpens, November 19, 1955, a son of the late Albert Martin and Earline Fowler Golicher. Mr. Martin was retired from Standard Textiles and had previously worked at Carlisle Finishing. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammie Renwick and fiancé, Bobby Eison, and Molly Anderson all of Union; two sisters, Barbara Fraley and husband Steve, and Ann Sanders and husband Frank all of Cross Anchor; and a step-brother, Leroy Sanders of Cowpens. He is also survived by grandchildren, Steven Howell and wife Katrina, Samuel Inman and fiancée, Haley, Josh Inman and fiancée, Breanna, Brian Gilkison and wife Heather, David Gilkison and wife Megan, Lacy Yarborough and husband Bubba, and Jessica Renwick. Mr. Martin was predeceased by a son, David Albert Martin, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Paul "Buddy" Hogan. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Eison, Bubba Yarborough, Steven Howell, Grady Trammell, Brian Gilkison and David Gilkison.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family will be at the home, 253 Suber Lane, Union.
