David Minton

January 22, 2018 Mr. David Minton, age 89, widower of Inez Patterson Minton of 251 E. Main St., Pacolet, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Minton was born in Union, December 12, 1928, a son of the late Henry Rastus Minton and Lila Kirby Minton. He was a 1947 graduate of Pacolet High School and was owner and operator of Minton's Garage and Wrecker Service. Mr. Minton was a councilman from 1989 till 1994 on the Pacolet Town Council and was a member of the Pacolet Lions Club and the First Baptist Church of Pacolet. At the time of his wife's passing, they had been proudly married for 66 years. Surviving are three daughters: Lynne Wunch, Trina Hutchins and husband John and Dale Helms and husband Bryan all of Pacolet; one son: Tim Minton and wife Tammy also of Pacolet; a sister: Sara Ruth Hall and husband Bud of Belleville, MI; seven grandchildren: Hans Wunch (Laurie), Angie Brasington (Jody), Mandie Minton (Jeff), Timothy Minton (Ginger), Laura Hutchins, Walt Hutchins (Kay) and Kirby Helms; six great-grandchildren: Micaiah and Silas Wunch, Anna and Lizzie Brasington, Case and Gemma Minton and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Minton was predeceased by four sisters: Pauline, Frances, Shirley, and Alline and a brother: Herbert. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Pacolet conducted by Rev. Tommy Sparks, Rev. Mack McDowell and Rev. Hans Wunch. Burial will be in the First Baptist Church of Pacolet Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening also at the church. Memorials may be made to the Pacolet Lions Club, P.O. Box 127, Pacolet, SC 29372 or to the First Baptist Church of Pacolet, Cemetery Fund, 310 W. Main St., Pacolet, SC 29372. The family will be at the home, 251 E. Main St., Pacolet.
