Mr. David Edward Yarbrough, age 73, the husband of Martha Mathis Yarbrough, passed away Wednesday October 12, 2022 at his home.
Mr. Yarbrough was born September 27, 1949 in Union, a son of the late Clarence Yarbrough and Betty Ruth Trent Yarbrough. He retired from City of Union Utility Department as a member of the Gas Crew. He was also retired from the US Army Reserves in Spartanburg. Mr. Yarbrough was a member of Covenant Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He had also served as President of Gillam Chapel Hunt Club in Santuc. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 53 years, Martha are two sons, Michael David Yarbrough, Sr. and Jason O'Neil Yarbrough and his wife Shannon, all of Union; a brother Larry Yarbrough and wife Cynthia of Union and four grandchildren; Michael David Yarbrough Jr., Eric Yarbrough, Matt O'Neil Yarbrough, and Novah Manibusan. He is also survived by six great grandchildren; Christian, Ryleigh, Avah, Norah, Jahlil and Jaxson. He is also survived by his hunting and fishing fur buddy, Sally. He was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Emah Yarbrough.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Covenant Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Wayne Cooke. Active pallbearers are Maxie Sanders, Ricky Smith, Richie Brown, Jim Burnett, Josh Pridmore and Freddie Renwick. The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort, Bobby Bailey, Butch Greene, Travis Greene, Mike Lovelace, Tim Simon, Danny Groves, Arthur Jordan and Bryan Patterson. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery with Military Honors.
Visitation be held Friday evening October 14, 2022, from 6:00 until 8PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel.
