January 18, 2020 Mr. Dennis Lynn "Hilltop" Crisp, age 65 of 825 S. Duncan ByPass, Union, passed away, Friday, January 17, 2020 at his home. Dennis was born in Union, October 9, 1954, a son of the late Sam and Sara McGowan Crisp. He worked with the Union Co. Senior Citizens and Meals on Wheels. Dennis was very active with Miracle League, Pickin and Grinning, Wrestling, Racing, Lukesville Community Club and numerous other community activities. He was an honorary fireman with Buffalo Fire Department and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Dennis loved everyone and enjoyed his time with each and everyone he came in contact with. Dennis loved to travel and tell the world about his wonderful town of Union County. Surviving are two sisters, Vicki Morgan and husband Bruce with whom he made his home, and Sammye Nix and husband David "Bubba" of Buffalo. Dennis is also survived by nieces and nephews: Christie (Rod) Knight, James (Andrea "Harper") Harris, Denver (Shannon) Harris, Misty (Chip) Osborne, Kelley Nix, Casey (Aida) Morgan, and Jamie (Andrea "Drew") Morgan. Great nieces and nephews are: Tate (Mallerie) Knox, Jase Knight, Dayton Knight, Kadianne Knight, Morgan (Cy) Harris, Luke Harris, Rylee and Brooklynn Harris, Julian Osborne, Alexa Morgan, and Aubrey Lawson. Great-great nieces are: Kylie Knox, Ellie and Charli Painter and great-great nephews are: J.W. Knight and Wes Knox. Also surviving are a special uncle Donnie (Jean) Crisp and special cousins: J.W. (Jackie) Crisp and David (Laura) Crisp. Dennis was predeceased by a great niece, Jaidi Osborne. The family wishes to say a special Thank You to Stacie Briggs, Caitlyn Nix, Marissa Woods, Amy Austin and Genelle Alexander for being there when Dennis and his family needed them. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, January 20, 2020 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Mark Truitt and Rev. Ricky Cook. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:30 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Tim Mitchell, David Heatherly, Glenn Palmer, Barry Palmer, Randall Wright, Allen Petty, Stacy Jones and Kendall Austin. The following are asked to form the honorary escort: Kerri and Marissa Woods, Helen Coffey, Jimmy and Sandra Vinson, Derrick Vanderford, Dion Johnson, Bit Barber, Bennie Kershaw, Miracle League Boards Members and Lukesville Community Club. Also, members of the Buffalo Pawn - Miracle League Team and Buffalo Fire Department members are asked to wear their uniforms. Memorials may be made to Miracle League of Union County, P.O. Box 425, Union, SC 29379 or to the Union County Council on Aging, 237 N. Gadberry St., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 825 S. Duncan ByPass Union.
