Dollie B. Broome

Mrs. Dollie Burns Broome, age 92, widow of Charles David "Buddy" Broome, formerly of Lockhart, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Broome was born in Hickory Grove, December 25, 1929, a daughter of the late Rufus Marion Burns and Lucille Pursley Burns. She was a graduate of Hickory Grove High School and retired from Milliken and Co., Lockhart Plant. Mrs. Broome was a member of Lockhart First Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Sheila B. Cranford and husband Chip of Spartanburg; a son, Charles Dennis Broome and wife Charlene of Lockhart; a sister, Joyce Hardin of Gastonia, NC; a brother, Glen Burns of Jonesville; a granddaughter, Rachel Van Name and husband Matthew; two great-grandchildren, Vera Kate Van Name and Turner Van Name; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Broome was predeceased by a brother, Joe Burns.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Drew Rogers. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
