Mr. Donald "Sed" Addis, age 85 of 325 B St., Jonesville passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at his home. Mr. Addis was born in Jonesville, SC on April 4, 1931, a son of the late Eugene "Man" Addis and Evelyn Foster Addis. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and was retired from the U.S. Air Force and the SC National Guard. Mr. Addis was also a member of the American Legion Post # 0129 in Jonesville. "Sed" had a deep love and talent for music, often playing at the local "opera" houses three times a week. In the last few months, he was mainly playing at Buffalo Opera House. He had played the rhythm guitar with Don Gibson Band in Nashville, TN and was previously married to the late Sue Duke Addis. Surviving are a son, Ronald Dale Addis and wife Robin of Knoxville, TN; a granddaughter, Casey Smith and husband Josh of Auburndale, FL; two grandsons, Mitch Addis and wife Sarah and Patrick Addis and wife Andrea all of Knoxville, TN; four great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Addis Kerr of Jonesville, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Clyde Grady "Boots" Addis and Franklin Deleno (Frank) "Gofer" Addis and a brother-in-law, Ernest "Shot" Kerr. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Jonesville Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Alan West. The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
