Donald Eugene Smith

Mr. Donald Eugene Smith, age 62, husband of Phyllis Dover Smith of 1211 Arthur Blvd, Union, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Union Medical Center. Mr. Smith was born in Union, SC April 26, 1957, a son of the late Gideon Vance Smith, Jr. and Carol Moss Smith. He had attended Union High School and was formerly employed in the Textile Industry. Mr. Smith had also worked for Direct TV. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Christi Smith Sanders and husband Kevin of Columbia and Shelley Smith of Union; a granddaughter, Anna Paige Patterson; a grandson, Dustin Alexander of Union; a great-grandson, Dayton Alexander; a brother, Kennie Smith and wife Warrenette of Union and a number of nieces, nephews and their children. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Donald E. Smith Memorial Fund, P.O. 293, Union,SC 29379.
