Donald L. "Snake" Robinson, Sr.

Mr. Donald Larry "Snake" Robinson, Sr., age 81, husband of Carroll Wall Robinson of 209 Mill St., Union, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Robinson was born in Union, May 27, 1943, a son of the late Heyward and Floree Palmer Robinson. He was a retired textile worker and mechanic and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Mr. Robinson was a firefighter with over 50 years of service having served as Chief of the Monarch Fire Department and served as a board member.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 62 years, Carroll, are two daughters, Donice Allison and husband Jack of Union, and Kaye Nelson and husband Rob of Clinton; two sons, Larry Robinson, Jr. and wife Erin and Kevin Robinson and wife Betsy all of Buffalo; two brothers, Alvin Robinson and wife Sylvia of Pacolet, and Michael Robinson and wife Bunny of Jonesville; and three brothers-in-law, Howard Whitehead of Union, Donnie Wall and wife Annette of Roebuck,, and Mike Everette and wife Kathy of Greenwood. He is also survived by grandchildren, Drew Nelson (Krysta), Ashley Patterson (Brandon), Dustin Nelson (Megan), Larry "Turtle" Robinson (Kala), Hunter Allison (Annie), Brad Allison (Kelsie), Nathan Robinson, Noah Robinson and a special granddaughter, Kaci Davis (Nick); and great-grandchildren, Emily Nelson, Kaleigh Nelson, Cameron Patterson, Ava Grace Nelson, Dixie Robinson, Charlie Smith, Aria Robinson, Aspyn Allison, John Luke Patterson, Donnie Nelson, Aiden Nelson, Melody Nelson, Olivia Nelson, Heidi Allison and Saige Allison. Mr. Robinson was predeceased by a granddaughter, Nikki Nelson, a great-granddaughter, Dani Lynn Robinson and a sister, Lucy Whitehead.

The family wishes to say a special Thank You to Agape Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Mr. Robinson during his illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Hebron Baptist Church conducted by Mr. Alex Calhoun, Rev. Lynn Ford and Mr. David Sinclair. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Mr. Robinson's grandson will serve as the active pallbearers. Past and present members of the Monarch Fire Department are asked to serve as the honorary pallbearers.
