Donald G. White

Mr. Donald Gene White, age 77 of 100 Davis St., Union, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 at his home. Mr. White was born in Union, April 10, 1938, a son of the late Robert Lee White and Rittie Neal White. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from the textile industry working in security. Mr. White was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the late 1960's. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are four daughters, Jean W. Capps and husband Robert, Donna Jean White, Dusty Lee W. Helton and husband James all of Union, and Snowe W. Meadors and husband Bryan of Spartanburg; two sons, Ron Lovley and wife Mary of MI and Michael Eugene White of Union; a step-daughter, Sherry Knox Davis and husband Fred Davis, Jr. of Enoree; three step-sons, Bobby Knox, Jr. and wife Cindy of VA, Roger Dale Hill and wife Tracy and Dennis Ray Hill and wife Kim all of Union; two special friends, Ruby White and Judy White both of Union; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Smith. Burial with Military Honors will be at Rosemont Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joey Meadors, Ronnie Windsor, Roger Hill, David White, James Helton, and Jimmy Belue. Staff and nurses with Medi Home Hospice along with members of the Jerusalem Project of Union Co. are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 9:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Medi Home Hospice, 101 S. Boyce St., Union or to Jerusalem Project, c/o of the Union Co. Baptist Association, P.O. Box 147, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Jean and Robert Capps, 4024 Sanuc-Carlisle Hwy., Carlisle.
