Donnie Lynn Kirby

Mr. Donnie Lynn Kirby, age 78 of 158 Jolly Dr., Union, widower of Catherine "Cathy" Cody Kirby, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mr. Kirby was born in Union, September 25, 1947, a son of the late Merlin and Hazel Redmon Kirby. He attended Union High School and was retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing. Mr. Kirby was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Daniell Kirby Pruitt and husband Jason of Spartanburg; his companion, Carol Moore of Buffalo; a sister-in-law, Lillie Kirby of Union; and his in laws, Steve and Susan Pruitt of Spartanburg. He is also survived by a grandson, Damon Kerbein who is serving in the US Air Force and his fiancée Mirabel; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Pruitt and a dear friend Ricky Boulware of Buffalo. He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Kirby.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2025 at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Larry Goins and Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family will be at their respective homes.
