Mrs. Donnis Eaves Knox, age 72 wife of Weldon "Dunnie" Knox, Jr., of 334 Pea Ridge Hwy., Jonesville passed away Thursday July 18, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mrs. Knox was born in Union, SC on April 23, 1944 a daughter of the late Mardis Honary Eaves and Pearl Gault Eaves. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and was retired from Union High School. Mrs. Knox was an active member of Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a Co-Chairperson of the Worship Committee, Co-Chairperson of Family Life, a Church Board of Trustees, Pastor-Parish Relations Committee, Worship Committee, and the Flowers and Paraments Committee. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Tracie Knox McKelvey of Pacolet; a son, Troy Knox of Jonesville; one granddaughter, Kayla Knox of Union; one grandson, Dustin McKelvey of Pacolet; five sisters, Ollie Chambers of Greer, Waleanor Kirby of Union, Judy Bright and husband J.D. of Union, Miriam Gregory of Jonesville, and Marilyn Sicay and husband George of Virginia; and three brothers, Lawrence "Buddy" Eaves of Union, James "Cotton" Eaves and wife Emily, and Wayne Eaves and wife Virginia. She was predeceased by two sisters, Myrtle Kelly and Maynelle Jennings and two brothers, Tom Eaves and Kenneth "Pinto" Eaves. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Michael Walker, Rev. Glenn Ribelin, and Rev. Larry Hyder. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Keith Kirby, Doran Eaves, Derrill Eaves, James Bright, Jeffrey Bright, Tim Gregroy, Dallas Sicay, and Kenny Jennings. The following are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers, John Young, Bo Ham, Albert Smith, Toney Farr, and Kenneth Adams. Visitation will be held after the services in the church. Memorials may be made to Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 611, Union, SC 29379. Due to the illness of Mr. Weldon Knox, the family request visitors at the visitation only at Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church.
