Doris Lee Senn Stoddard

July 15, 2015 Mrs. Doris Lee Senn Stoddard, 92, wife of William Fred Stoddard, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family and caretakers. Mrs. Stoddard was born on November 10, 1922 in Laurens, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Charles Arthur Senn and Mollie Smith Senn. She is survived by her loving and faithful husband, William Stoddard, having celebrated their seventieth anniversary on June 29, 2015. Mrs. Stoddard was a lifelong, active, and faithful supporter of the Presbyterian Church USA, and was currently a member of First Presbyterian Church, Union, South Carolina for over forty eight years. She was a member of the Rebecca Nickelson Sunday School Class and Circle Number Two. In her earlier years, she served her community as a Cub Scout leader and a Girl Scout leader. Surviving in addition to her husband are three children: William Fred Stoddard, Jr., and Marilyn of Union, SC; James Alan Stoddard and Christie of Greenville, SC; and Peggy Stoddard Perrow and Moss of Cameron, SC; four grandsons: William Bryson Stoddard of Charleston, SC; Adam Holman Perrow and Stacey of Charlotte, NC; Stewart Moss Perrow and Betsy of St. Matthews, SC; and Steven Neal Stoddard of Columbia, SC. Mrs. Stoddard was preceded in death by her brothers Colonel Retired U.S. Army Charles Arthur Senn, Jr., and John David Senn. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 17, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, 101 West South Street, Union, SC officiated by Reverend Keith Morrison. The family will receive friends and relatives in the church parlor after the service. A private interment, officiated by Reverend Sanders Read will be held at Owings Presbyterian Church, Owings, SC at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thornwell Home for Children, Post Office Box 60, Clinton, SC 29325 or to First Presbyterian Church, 101 West South Street, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home.
