Dorothy Mae “Dot” Dupree

November 17, 2018 Mrs. Dorothy Mae "Dot" Burgess DuPree, age 88 of 304 Harris Street, Jonesville, widow of James Henry DuPree, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at Regional Hospice House. Mrs. DuPree was born in Jonesville, SC February 7, 1930, a daughter of the late John Burgess and Earlene Horne Burgess. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are two sons: James Rick Dupree and wife Sherry of Union and Chris E. Dupree and life partner, Susan L. Kaminski; six grandchildren: Anitra Vinson, Lance DuPree, Robyn Hickson, Courtney Robles, Kearun DuPree, and Ashlee DuPree; several special great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ada Turner and friend Roy Littlejohn and Terry Childers and husband Roger Dale; a brother, Lloyd Burgess and wife Dianne all of Jonesville. Mrs. DuPree was predeceased by a son, Brent DuPree; sisters and brothers: Ruby Burgess, Glover Burgess, Johnny Burgess Wilhelmina Blum and Clyde Burgess. Funeral services will be held 2:00 Monday, November 19, 2018 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner. Burial will be in Jonesville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM Monday in the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Regional Hospice House, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home, 304 Harris Street, Jonesville.
